SERVICES: THT Performance

Thomas Herding Technique is proud to now offer THT Performance. This service area is designed to embrace the various needs of the performance team and athlete.

Whether working as a supplemental service in specific training areas, assisting in the selection process of your pre-purchase yearling with EthoGrade Quick Start or utilizing the next level of breeding via EthoGrade Plus and THT's Double P method of matching, the THT team and universal abilities of EthoGrade can be formatted to fit your specific needs and more importantly, those of your horse(s). For your entire stable or just one horse, THT Performance can augment your performance strategy by researching the inner horse dynamic and their individual interpretations, find the horse's sweet spot, and work to eradicate performance and training inconsistencies. For the horse, distance (length and level of focus) is merely a manifestation of time, making the interpretation of stimulus a psychological factor.

At THT, we work to balance the horse on an emotional level and work to develop the horse in such a way as to stave off stress and emotional unrest that often leads to many issues that overlap into their training and performance. Very often, managing the stress of the horse means expanding the individual herd dynamic. Freeing them mentally helps stave off the disease of equine complacency. Developing the athlete by designing training protocols to fit the specific herd dynamic of your horse is extremely important. By utilizing the pioneering THT EthoGrade to find the individual herd dynamic, we are able to ascertain unique behavioral characteristics and with greater accuracy pin-point both the strong and the weak points of the athlete's psyche. This is the foundation from which to move forward.

THT works to advance the natural herd dynamic into the artificial world by applying our own wild horse research into the development of our services. The ability of the horse to focus on the singular moments of time in a protracted sequence is directly related to the pace and duration with which motion occurs. The level of the horse's focus is relative to its Individual Herd Dynamic, or IHD, and the potential within it; making the mental capacity of the equine in control of the physical output of the athlete. Swift pace can only truly transpire when not encumbered by scattered focus. We do our own independent research specifically targeting the unique needs of the equine athlete.
